House Painters in Havertown, PA
Rated 5.0 stars on Google from 96+ reviews.
Havertown covers most of Haverford Township, in the eastern part of Delco. It has no borough government and no single downtown. It is a run of neighborhoods, Brookline, Oakmont and Manoa among them, each grown up around its own shopping street.
Most of the houses went up between the 1920s and the 1950s, as families moved out from Philadelphia along the trolley and rail lines. The house most people picture is a twin with a stone front and stucco or siding down the sides. Brick and stone colonials and Cape Cods fill the streets around them. Lots are narrow, driveways are often shared, and the street trees on the older blocks have grown as tall as the rooflines.

What we see on Havertown houses
Painted wood set into stone fronts
The stone on a Havertown front rarely needs anything. The wood set into it does: window frames, the cornice, the porch roof fascia and the door surround. Masonry holds water against that wood, so the paint fails first at the joint, and the wood behind it gets checked before anything is coated.
Half the house belongs to the neighbor
From the street a twin reads as one building. The color, and the exact line where our work stops, get settled before the first coat. Work beside a shared driveway is planned so the family next door can still get their car out.
Front porches closed in years ago
Plenty of Havertown porches were enclosed decades back with windows, paneling or knee walls. They were framed more lightly than the house itself and swing between hot and cold with the seasons, so the paint on them moves more than anywhere else and they are quoted as their own item.
Plaster walls in rooms being updated
Houses this age get renovated a room at a time. Original plaster cracks along the same lines every winter, and when a kitchen wall comes out or a basement gets finished, new board has to meet old plaster without a seam showing through the paint.
