House Painters in New Castle County, Delaware
Modern Image Painting paints homes and businesses across New Castle County, from the rowhomes of the city and the brick of Brandywine Hundred to the new construction below the canal. Interior, exterior, drywall, decks and pressure washing, quoted in person and backed by a 3-year warranty on all of our work.
The county changes character every few miles, and so does the paintwork. Wilmington itself is attached housing: rowhomes and twins with street-front facades and no side access. North of the city, Brandywine Hundred is post-war brick with painted trim and shutters. West along the Kennett Pike, Greenville and Centreville turn into stone, stucco and cedar on older estate properties. Out Kirkwood Highway through Marshallton and Pike Creek it is 1950s and 1960s development siding. South of the canal around Middletown it is new construction still on its first coat.
Every job gets looked at in person before anything is quoted. That matters more here than it would in a county with one kind of house, because the right preparation for painted stucco over stone is not the right preparation for chalked aluminum siding, and neither is a quote you can give over the phone.

What we see on houses in New Castle County
Painted trim and shutters on Brandywine Hundred brick
The standard job north of the city. The brick is fine and the trim, shutters, dormers and overhangs are not. South and west elevations give out first because they take the most sun, so a house can look sound from the street and need real work around the back.
Stucco and stone along the Kennett Pike
Greenville, Centreville and Montchanin carry a lot of older masonry finished in stucco or parged and painted. Old masonry needs to breathe. Sealing it with the wrong coating traps moisture in the wall instead of keeping it out, so the coating choice gets decided at the house.
Chalked siding on 1950s and 1960s developments
The Kirkwood Highway corridor through Marshallton, Milltown and Pike Creek is full of original aluminum and hardboard siding. Decades of oxidation leave a chalky film that new paint will not bond to until it is washed off properly, which is why exterior work here usually starts with pressure washing.
Street-front work on Wilmington rowhomes and twins
Attached housing means shared walls, no side yard, and a facade that starts at the sidewalk. Access gets planned before the job rather than discovered on day one, and the neighbors matter because their wall is your wall.
River-side moisture in the eastern towns
New Castle, Delaware City and Wilmington Manor sit close to the Delaware River. North elevations there hold damp longer and grow mildew, and painting over it without killing and washing it back simply buries the problem under a fresh coat.
First repaints on new construction south of the canal
Middletown, Bear and Glasgow are full of houses handed over with a thin builder coat that was never meant to last. Owners tend to come to it a few years in, wanting proper coverage, real color, and the trim and doors done to a standard the handover coat did not reach.
