House Painters in Delaware City, DE

Delaware City sits at the eastern end of the canal. It is a nineteenth century canal town that never got absorbed into anything, so the original grid of Clinton Street and the streets around it survives largely intact.

The buildings are frame and brick from the 1820s onward, standing close together and close to the water. Between the river, the canal and the marsh, this is the wettest and most exposed environment we work in anywhere in the county, and the paintwork on the front elevations shows it.

What gets asked for in Delaware City

What we see on Delaware City houses

  • Salt and wind off the river

Exposure here is genuinely harsher than a few miles inland. Coatings on the river-facing elevations are asked to do more, and a specification chosen for a sheltered suburban street will not last on Clinton Street.

  • Nineteenth century frame at close quarters

Old wood-framed buildings standing shoulder to shoulder mean layered coatings, moved boards and shared boundaries. The preparation is the work, and there is no shortcut through it on a building this age.

  • Damp from the canal and marsh

Ground moisture is a constant here. Walls that stay wet at the base blister a new coat quickly, so the base of the wall gets looked at properly instead of just being painted the same as the rest.

  • Historic street frontage on view

The town’s appearance is its main asset and the front elevations are what visitors see. Color, sheen and a clean line at the neighboring property all carry more weight here than they would on an ordinary street.

Why customers pick us

What stands behind the work is the Delaware license, the insurance, and a local owner-operated company that quotes every job from a real look at the building. Read what customers wrote on Google, or read how the business started.
